Race for the Cure
So, I registered for the Race for the Cure 5k(which took place today), and was totally psyched up and ready for it. This morning, I got up at the ungodly-for-a-Saturday-morning time of 5:30 (I'd much rather had a lay-in) to make sure James and I got there on time. And then we check the weather-yes, it's going to be cold-and then get a text message from his boss that it was up to the employees (all his coworkers are doing it, hence the reason he is also)if they wanted to "brave the weather", since there was supposed to be snow and rain moving into Ft. Worth at that time. James called his co-workers and discovered none of them were going to go with the weather being cold as a witches teat.
So we didn't go.
We were all geared up and ready however, so we decided to go to the fitness center and have our own 5k. James did 1.3 miles instead of the 3.1 miles that make up a 5k, but he's not fully prepared for the longer distance yet, and followed that up with a good hard upper body workout.
I did the whole 3.1 miles.
Previous 5k time (set at the St. Paddy's Day Dash Down Greenville) - 44:10
Today's 5k time (set on the treadmill in our fitness center with some gross sweaty guy next to me) - 41:05.
Go me. Now to break into the 30s.
So we didn't go.
