Eve's Apple.

My First Indian Restaurant

I've been wanting to go to an Indian restaurant for quite a while, for something new and because my Indian coworker occassionally brings food from his mom's house that is just absolutely delicious. James is suspicious of places he hasn't been before, so he wasn't as excited about the prospect as I was.

Last nite, I FINALLY got him to agree to go to a restaurant we'd never been before, and as I didn't want to drive very far, we went to a place near Vista Ridge mall that I'd seen and thought about:Kokila Indian Cuisine (although I could swear it used to be named something else).

The atmosphere was very cozy-small room and big luxurious curtains. We had missed the buffet (I thought they served it for dinner, but it's only lunch), so we got regular menus. I had a fun time explaining certain foods to James (what I know about at least:dosas, paneer, etc). I wish I were eating meat because they had some type of pastry thing stuffed with lamb that sounded good.

James ended up getting "The First Timers Special" which came with tomato soup, onion pakora, chicken tikka masala curry, and gula jamun for dessert.

I got vegetable masala curry that was delicious! I mixed it with the gorgeous long grain rice that they served us. Extremely spicy (as a curry will be), but SO good.

I'll edit this to elaborate more later. I have to go baby shower gift shopping.
